We are asking for an inital investment of $500,000 to ensure that Year 2 Year Portfolios are safe and secure for all districts, can be embedded within their existing reporting and information systems and that they are easily accessible for teachers and students.
The goal of Year 2 Year is to develop Y2Y Portfolios to present to the Ministry of Education. Portfolio assessment should be recognized at the provincial level and be supported through the ministry for all school districts.
Our approach is to target individual districts and the province at the same time. This way we will have real-time data to present to the Ministry of Education.
By embedding Y2Y Portfolios in MyEDBC they become a part of the reporting standards across the province and student information is protected within that domain.
Access to Y2Y Portfolios is based on a yearly subscripiton fee for districts.*
Individual schools may subcribe as well based on a per student fee.
If implemented Province wide this fee will be much reduced.
Time Line
Year one: Product creation and developoment with Beta testing in 3 districts of varying size. Initial marketing looking for test districts.
Year two: Marketing to Districts across the Province. Expanded product testing with reduced product rates.
Presentation to the BC Ministry of Education with the recommendation to embed in MyEdBC.
